I had the pleasure of meeting this young man and his parents this week. It was 90 degrees Tuesday evening, and Jake stepped out of his car in a shirt and tie and black pants and grabbed his cello from the back. My first thought was oh no, he is going to melt! Not only did Jake not melt, he never complained about the heat or about anything. He was a really great kid to hang out with.
Jake enjoys acting in plays and plays in the orchestra at Marshall School. He enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and cross country skiing. He also likes to read and enjoys music. I found him to be respectful, kind and fun to be around. I guessed when reading his survey that he had a great sense of humor, and I could definitely see that in him when we met.
Jake also plays the electric bass in a band that “never gets together”. Cool all the same I say. I was excited that he brought his bass guitar with. I wasn’t really expecting it, but it gave me the opportunity to reflect another piece of his great personality.
One of the things I love most about being a photographer is all the interesting people I meet. I always feel pretty lucky to have these opportunities to cross paths with people I may have normally not. Thanks to you Jake and your parents, Tanya and Joe, for letting me be a little part of this great time in your life. Good luck! I know you will do great things.
