Lake Superior Grad Session|Kate at the Lake

It is super hard to look at this gorgeous July session on Lake Superior without wishing for summer. Fall is fine, but I really love summer. Going back in pictures is a little bittersweet for me. This was the year of grad sessions on the beach. Every beach session I did was a little different but all so special in their own way. We are pretty lucky to have such a beautiful backdrop here in Duluth.

By the way, this is Kate. And Kate is pretty cool and very cute and sweet. Kate’s session started at Bayfront.  I have to admit, I haven’t spent much time shooting in Bayfront. All that open space was a little scary. Open shade can be found though along with a great variety of colors and textures. We moved on to Canal Park from there to explore the streets and the waterfront. The series in the blue dress is my number one favorite from Kate’s session. Knowing what colors look good on you is so important. Kate nailed it with blue. So complimentary!

A hat! Yay! This series was all Kate. I worked really hard this year to bring great personalities out. It’s more than just posing, it’s having fun and capturing the best you.  You can’t imagine how good it feels to hear a mom say “you captured the real her!” So good!

Kate loves to cook and bake…she made me cupcakes! She has a love for pasta in particular, and I shared one of my favorite “Spicey Pasta” recipes. I love it when I can so easily connect with my clients. Kate is busy with work, yearbook and teaching Sunday school. She is an all around great girl.  I loved wandering around Duluth with her and her mom. Pretty awesome that my job let’s me wander around chattig with people, huh?

I love it when I hear back from my clients as the go out into the world. So many exciting things on the horizon for them, and I’m so curious to see where their paths lead.

All the best to you Kate! I know you will do great things!
